MONTREAL- Vincent Sieu is a terror at the ping pong table, in July he'll be a challenger for the national title at the vigorous age of 10.

"I smash it!" exclaims Vincent when asked what he does when a ball is in front of him. "I put the ball right, left, right, right, left."

He started playing table tennis at six years old. Since then he's been a Quebec champion and has won three national medals. Training at Club Reflexe in Laval, mostly against older, more experienced players, he usually gives them a run for their money.

"First of all he's really talented and he's got a good feel for the ball. Not a lot of kids have this special feel for the ball, but most of all he's got a great attitude," said Steve Harrison, Vincent's training partner.

"He's got the discipline and he is not scared of work, I think that's his greatest quality."

Ping pong is a real family affair in the Sieu household. Father Peng Ho plays and his sister Vida is a former Quebec champion. Dad and Vida are currently doubles partners which has created a bit of sibling paddle rivalry.

"It's fun because I get to play with him a lot and we have fun playing but sometimes he beats me so I get mad," said Vida.

Peng Ho says his son has abilities beyond his years.

"I think he has a good concentration when he plays especially in the game," said Peng Ho.

Vincent hopes winning a national championship will get him a permanent spot on dad's team.
