Montreal police now say the suspicious death of an elderly woman in Villeray was a homicide.
The body of an 83-year-old woman was found in an apartment on St. Gerard St. near Villeray St. on Thursday morning.
Police were called after Urgences Santé had been dispatched to the home,
When police arrived, they found the woman’s 59-year-old daughter in the house in a state of shock. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and despite having no visible wounds her health deteriorated rapidly.
On Friday morning her health was reported as being in critical condition.
Police want to question the daughter to see if her actions led to her mother's death.
