MONTREAL—A Halloween party in Terrebonne was rocked by gunshots on Sunday morning when two men were struck by bullets behind a reception hall in the north shore suburb.
The two victims, aged 28 and 29, were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. While their injuries are not considered life threatening, one of the men was struck in the face and leg. He will require extensive surgery.
The other man was hit in the abdomen.
Terrebonne police rushed to the Villa des Moulins on Gascon Rd. just before dawn on Sunday and even asked for backup from neighbouring municipalities to establish an extensive security perimeter around the crime scene.
Despite the heavy police presence, investigators received few clues to explain the double shooting as few at the party witnessed the event and neither victim is collaborating with police.
No suspect or suspects have yet to be arrested.
