A collision between a car and a cube truck killed two people early Saturday morning in Saint-Simon-de-Rimouski, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent.

The car veered off the road on Highway 132 around 5 a.m., hitting the truck transporting live poultry.

The two occupants of the car, men aged 19 and 20, were killed. The Jaws of Life had to be used to be used to remove the bodies from the wreckage.

The Surete du Quebec believes the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel or have suffered from an illness.

The truck driver suffered from shock.
