SEPT-ILES, Que. - The surete du Quebec say three people have been transported to hospital following a helicopter crash on Quebec's North Shore.

Rescue teams were dispatched today to site, about 40 kilometres north of Sept-Iles in a heavily forested area not accessible by road.

Police say five people were aboard the privately-owned helicopter -- four passengers and the pilot.

Authorities say they don't have any information about two others aboard.

The SQ said the helicopter departed Sept-Iles airport this morning and they received a call about the crash at 9:45 a.m.

Firefighters and paramedics managed to get to the crash site by helicopter and police and the Canadian Armed Forces were on their way.
