MONTREAL—Three men were arrested by the Montreal police on Wednesday morning after a suspected arson damaged a car on Randall Ave. in Notre-Dame-de-Grace.

The three suspects were arrested just after midnight as they fled the scene by car. Witnesses of the suspected arson gave police a good description of the getaway vehicle aiding squad cars quickly locate and intercept the vehicle at the corner of nearby Cavendish Blvd.

The men, ages 41, 26 and 19, could face charges on Wednesday. One of the men was known to police and a warrant was out for his arrest on a prior case. The owner of the getaway vehicle had no prior record.

According to Montreal police spokeswoman Anie Lemieux, the force has no clue why the vehicle was targeted. While police investigate, the arson squad was dispatched to the scene of the fire to determine the cause and possible motive for why the vehicle may have been targeted.
