Police from Montreal will travel to Kelowna, B.C. to retrieve a suspect in an arson.
Jayne Ellen Heideck, 42, was taken into custody at 10 a.m. Monday in Kelowna, RCMP spokesperson Const. Jesse O’Donaghey confirmed.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for her arrest in connection with a blaze at Canada’s only gender confirmation clinic, Centre Metropolitain de Chirurgie early this month.
She will appear in court on this warrant in Kelowna and the Crown will demand she be sent to Montreal.
Investigators have ruled out hate crime as a motive.
