Provincial police will be at a park near a river in the Laurentians Friday as they search for a missing man.

They have set up a command post at a park on Du Pont Rd. near Route 117, adjacent to the Riviere du Nord, and will be searching the area with the help of volunteers.

Alexandre Tellier, 44, was last seen at the park early on the morning of July 5, wearing a green plaid shirt, a dark baseball cap, and a backpack bearing a white “Element” logo.

Tellier stands 1.68 m tall and weights 79 kg, (5'6", 175 lb) with brown eyes. He is balding with brown hair and may have a brown beard and moustache.

A spokesman for the Sureté du Quebec said that Tellier lives in the area and knows the terrain well.

They believe he may be holding out somewhere in the woods, while his family is worried about his health and safety.

Police are not investigating Tellier’s disappearance as a criminal event.

Anyone with information about Tellier’s whereabouts should contact the SQ at 1-800-659-4264.
