A 30-year-old Montreal grad student had his life turned upside down when he went to a clinic for a checkup.

Navid Tadayon moved to Montreal three years ago to work on his PhD., and after not seeing a doctor for some time his wife urged him to get a physical.

He went to the Alpha Medic walk-in clinic in November 2013 for the exam which included some routine blood tests.

"I came back after two weeks to get my result. They printed some results and gave it to me. Then I saw the doctor," said Tadayon.

This doctor, not the person he saw during his first visit, gave Tadayon some shocking news -- a mistake had been made.
