Police have arrested a 40-year-old man after he and four children were involved in a vehicle collision that police are describing as the result of road rage. 

Police received several calls about a man in a van who was driving dangerously at around 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The erratic driving started several kilometers away. The driver first struck a vehicle on Highway 40 West at Henri-Bourassa Blvd., then another at Marien Ave.

The van fiinally crashed into another vehicle on the 132 West near Roland-Therrien Blvd. and it slammed into a barrier. 

According to the SQ, drugs were found in the van. 

The driver and children were taken to hospital and one child is being treated for a significant injury.

The man was later arrested and faces dangerous driving charges. 

Several lanes were closed during the day while police investigated.
