Imprisoned blogger Raif Badawi has ended a hunger strike he began on Friday.

His wife, Quebec Ensaf Haidar, who was granted asylum and lives in Quebec, posted the information this week on Twitter.

According to Haidar, Badawi was transferred to hospital in order to get proper medical care.

Badawi has started hunger strikes before to protest his treatment in prison.

Badawi was condemned to receive 1000 lashes and serve ten years in prison for criticizing the Saudi regime on his blog.

He was flogged with 50 lashes on Jan. 9, 2015, but subsequent floggings have always been postponed because of Badawi's poor health.
