Tens of thousands of festival-goers are expected to converge on Quebec City on Saturday evening for the first night parade of the Winter Carnival.
The parade, which will feature floats, marching bands and other attractions, will start at 7:00 p.m. and will travel through the four kilometres of streets in the Charlesbourg borough.
Another parade is set for Feb. 11, this one through the city’s Upper Town area.
Quebec City police said security will be ramped up in response to Sunday’s shooting that left six men dead in a mosque.
