Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price is back on the ice, but it’s so far unclear if he will play Thursday.

Price has had the flu for ten days – a doozy which required antibiotics for an infection, but he is starting to feel better.

“It's nice to get some rubber, take some shots and get a good sweat again,” said Price in Brossard Wednesday at his first full practicein ten days.

Price lost seven to eight pounds while he fought the flu, quarantined in his basement.

“I’mgetting close. Day by day. Everybody has had the flu before and it takes a while to get the energy back playing sports,” he said.

The Canadiens have five out of a possible six points to start the season – an excellent record made even more so with Price’s absence.

Meantime, backup Al Montoya been nothing short of amazing, with a save percentage of .962 in the first three games.

“He's a veteran guy not rattled by anything or shook. It's nice to have that in a room. It’s real easy to get along. It takes a lot of pressure off me. It's been great,” said Price.

Price said he was impressed with Tuesday night’s 4-0 win against Stanley Cup champions the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“It thought we did an excellent job last night. It seems like we're playing with more confidence this year and I'm definitely looking forward to getting in there behind the team,” he said.

The Habs play the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night at the Bell Centre. Puck drops at 7:30p.m.
