The Sûreté du Québec is keep a close eye on drivers Sunday as the construction holiday comes to a close.

Many patrollers are on the roads to ensure drivers are following the Highway Safety Code.

Canadian border crossings are expected to be very heavy, but the Canadian Border Services Agency has opened the maximum number of booths available to help speed the process.

Still, drivers are asked to be patient and try to avoid the peak time, in the afternoon.

There were few delays in the early afternoon, however.

At 1 p.m., the Stanstead border was reporting a 5-minute wait time, St-Armand Philipsburg had no delay and St-Bernard-de-Lacolle was reporting a 10-minute delay.

Visit the CBSA website to get up-to-date wait times.
