MONTREAL - Montreal police are asking possible victims of an alleged scam artist accused of stealing $3 million of merchandise to come forward.

Stuart Letovsky, 34, was arrested Dec. 6 for allegedly running a network that dealt in stolen merchandise in Canada and in the United States.

Police say last fall, Letovsky established an online company called Tyler Xpress, which offered to transport merchandise.

He allegedly obtained multiple contracts in Canada and the U.S., and would pick up the shipment. Instead of making the delivery, however, police said he redistributed and resold the goods on the black market under the name Andrew Rose.

Police suspect he mostly worked in the Montreal area.

"We think he mostly probably hit here in the region of Montreal, and the reason behind all of this is that he had to go and get the merchandise to bring it and resell it, so it would have been hard for him to go the States, and then bring back the merchandise," explain Montreal police spokesperson Yannick Ouimet.

Police investigators first began investigating in November, when several victims came forward. Letovsky was charged Dec. 21 with theft and possession of stolen goods, as well as other related charges.

Police are seeking more information about the $3-million operation, and want to determine whether anyone else is involved.

Anyone with information or who has had dealings with either Stuart Letovsky or Andrew Rose is encouraged to contact Montreal police.
