A 22-year-old man's life is no longer in danger after being stabbed in a drunken brawl overnight in downtown Montreal.
The attack happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday on Ste. Catherine St. between St. Marc St. and St. Mathieu St.
Two men began fighting inside a bar and continued their brawl into the street, at which point one man stabbed the other in the upper body. The suspect then ran off.
The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but by 6:45 a.m. police were able to say that his life was no longer in danger.
Police say the victim has had previous encounters with officers, and they believe the suspect is well-known to police as well.
