The Surete du Quebec has arrested one man as it continues to investigate a series of attacks at the Western Festival in Saint Tite.

Several people were assaulted on Friday night, including a man who remains in a medically-induced coma after being kicked in the face.

Police spent several days investigating the crime before arresting a 31-year-old Monday evening in Lac à la Tortue, near Shawinigan. This suspect is due in court Tuesday to be charged with assault and battery.

Meanwhile police are still searching for suspects in at least two other assaults that took place at Canada's second-largest rodeo.

The SQ said one man was pummelled and had his wallet stolen.

The other victim is 21-year-old Mathieu Gregoire, who said on his Facebook page that he was beaten by a homophobic man with a beer bottle.
