Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for street gang member Léonard Faustin Étienne, 33, who is sought for the murder of Gaetan Gosselin, as well as a hold-up in a bar that took place the very next evening.

Gosselin was shot and killed while crossing Jean Tavernier and Pierre Gaulin in the Mercier sector of Montreal on January 22 at 6:15 p.m.

He was pronounced dead in hospital the same evening.

Four other suspects were arrested in connection with that crime that evening: Edrick Antoine, Olivier Guay, Standley Minuty and Kevin Tate.

Étienne was allegedly also one of six men who robbed a bar the next day at 11:05 p.m. on Beaubien East.

The men sat at the bar and had a drink and then ordered the manager to open the door to the office where the safe was hidden.

They escaped with about $10,000, fleeing in a blue or black Audi and a white vehicle.

Bernardin Polynice, Jean-Luc Sanon, Ghandi Estime, Danny Francis and Jules Marie Beaucicault were apprehended, but Etienne remains at large.

Anybody with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call Montreal police at 911.
