Police are looking to speak with family members of Luc Gelinas, 54, and Julie Lemieux, 35, a couple found dead in the Lachenaie section of Terrebonne Thursday morning.

The relatives are considered potential important witnesses to the incident that led to the deaths.

Terrebonne police responded to a tip directing them to the bodies in a home on Pierre Le Gardeur Blvd. They then called in the provincial police, as Terrebonne does not have its own homicide squad.

Police would not, however, confirm that the two had been murdered but they described the deaths as suspicious.

Their investigation was ongoing well into the evening, as a police representative confirmed that the bodies had yet to be moved, as investigators combed through potential evidence.

Police continued to offer few details throughout the day, but would only confirm that the incident was not a gangland slaying, as those involved had no ties to organized crime.

Gelinas and Lemieux were both managers at the SAQ, Quebec's liquor authority.

The SQ major crime squad set up a large perimeter around the home, which backs onto farmland.
