Montreal police confirmed Friday that the body of Tricia Boisvert had been located, and they are still hunting for Philippe Steele-Morin.

Her body was found overnight Wednesday in a car parked in the village of Quyon, about 250 km west of Montreal.

Officers said that Boisvert's car had been destroyed, but would not offer specific details.

Police say a tip from a witness led to the discovery of the body.

Boisvert's last known location was in her home on Notre Dame near Dominion in Montreal's Little Burgundy neighbourhood. Last Friday at 7 p.m. she was on the phone with a friend from Ottawa when a man, also from Ottawa, showed up at her door.

Following the arrest of a person who has not been identified, Montreal police officers said that Boisvert had likely been kidnapped from her Little Burgundy home and then murdered.

Philippe Steele-Morin is a suspect in Boisvert's kidnapping and murder.

He is likely in the Gatineau region and is considered dangerous due to his criminal record. He is also wanted in connection with another crime that took place in the Gatineau region.

Anyone who spots Steele-Morin should call 9-1-1.

Boisvert's death has been classified as the second Montreal murder of 2014. There were five last year by this date.
