Police have identified the person whose body was found in a burned-out car this weekend in Blainville.
They are not releasing her name to the public, but confirm it was a woman in her fifties.
Police would not confirm reports the woman's hands and feet had been bound before the car was set on fire.
However the Surete du Quebec says the death was not the result of any act of organized crime.
The car was spotted on fire near a business at the corner of Jean-Guyon and Michel-Bohec Sts. in Blainville by a passerby.
