Police were called to the area around Cabot Square on Wednesday night after dozens of Pokemon Go fantatics converged to hunt a rare virtual creature.

The call was placed at 11:30 p.m. by someone reporting a disturbance and when SPVM officers arrived, they found the gamers looking for the rare Pokemon called Dragonite.

No tickets were issued by police did stay on the site for an hour to make sure things stayed under control.

“At a certain point, people were not respecting road codes and stuff like that, so it was pretty dangerous for people in the park, pedestrians and people driving their cars,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The area around Atwater has become a hotspot for Pokemon Go players in recent weeks with many of the digitized monsters inhabiting the area.
