A pickup truck that caught fire in Montreal overnight was likely stolen a few hours earlier from the city of Montreal East.
People living near an alleyway behind Gonthier Ave. south of Hochelaga St. called 9-1-1 around 2 a.m. to report the sound of an explosion.
When first responders arrived the truck could be spotted burning in the alleyway.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, and truck appears to be a complete write-off. It appears the truck was stolen earlier in the night from a business on Notre Dame St. East near Lakefield St.
Nobody was hurt and nobody was spotted leaving the alley.
The arson squad of the Montreal police department is investigating.
