Many stores and services in Quebec and Montreal will be closed for the Fete Nationale holiday on Friday June 24, 2015. Here is a partial list:

Most City of Montreal offices and borough offices are closed, although the 3-1-1 service will be staffed.

Garbage, recycling and compost collection will take place as normal with the following exceptions:

  • Lachine: collection on Monday
  • Ville-Marie: cancelled
  • Villeray-St. Michel-Park Extension: cancelled

Most municipal offices in Laval are closed

Parking meters and street parking signs are in operation.

Public Markets will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Bonsecours Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Ecocentres will be open on their regular summer schedule, although Eco-Quartier offices will be closed.

Libraries throughout Montreal will be closed on June 24.

Pointe a Calliere, the Biodome, the Botanical Gardens, the Insectarium, and the Planetarium will be open.

AMT trains will not run as frequently on St. Jean Baptiste and Canada day.

  • Candiac, Mascouche, and Mont St. Hilaire: no service
  • Deux Montagnes, Vaudreuil-Hudson: Sunday service
  • St. Jerome: weekend service

The STM will be running on a weekend schedule, with some bus lines altered to accommodate the Fete Nationale parade

The STL in Laval will operate on a Sunday schedule, as is the RTL on the South Shore. 

Banks and Canada Post offices will be closed for the day.

Most retail stores will be closed, and every SAQ outlet in the province will be closed.
