MONTREAL—A man in his 40s was injured early Monday morning when a large water pipe broke under a large building complex in Brossard.

According to Longueuil police, one man was transported to hospital for back problems and shock after the concrete structure of the Seaway Corporation building shifted. Walls cracked and a doorway moved as a broken pipe rattled the structure.

Engineers were looking over the structure in the late morning and deemed it stable. Forty people were evacuated when the breakage occurred.

Once repairs are done to the building, people will be able to return to work.
