One worker has died and another was injured Monday morning in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, northeast of Drummondville.

The two people were doing work on a fuel tanker around 9 a.m. when a blast occurred, said the Surete du Quebec.

Two people were taken to a hospital in the region.

One of the two workers was a 29-year-old man from Saint-Germain-de-Grantham. He died in the incident.

The other worker is expected to survive.

An investigation into the blast has been opened by both the SQ and the workers’ health and safety standards board, CNESST.
