MONTREAL - Montreal and Laval police are keeping lips tightly-sealed concerning a highly-visible arrest conducted in a parking lot near Jean Talon and Decarie at about 9 p.m. Thursday evening.
Officers with guns drawn stopped a silver Camry for undisclosed reasons, but several witnesses overheard police stating that the operation was conducted for the Laval police in search of illicit drugs.
The car was towed away, reportedly in the aim of searching it completely for drugs.
The operation took place near the Baton Rouge restaurant, where several diners had a ringside seat to the action.
A man and a woman were in the car at the time and the man appears to have been detained, however calls to the Montreal and Laval police did not lead to any further information concerning the operation.
