A nurse who treated Richard Henry Bain shortly after his arrest for murder on election night in 2012 testified he was calm but talkative during his stay at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Bain was brought to the hospital with chest pains 36 hours after his arrest. The nurse said despite being surrounded by police while restrained to a stretcher and wearing an oxygen mask, the accused shooter would not stop talking.

“I know what I did was wrong,” she said he told her, before adding he was a born-again Christian.

Later in the day, the jury was shown a series of surveillance videos showing the hours preceding the shooting. In them, Bain could be seen at the Royal Victoria for a checkup. Footage from later in the evening showed Bain circling the Metropolis, where the shooting took place, in his car. One other video showed him approaching the venue in his SUV, a commotion and then his arrest.

According to earlier testimony, Bain was listening to election results on radio.

Then, minutes before midnight, he can be seen on video getting out of his car and putting on what later turned out to be a bathrobe and a ski mask.

Bain is spotted walking towards the Metropolis.  The video doesn't show the actual shooting, but a flash of light is visible when a fire was set to the stairs behind the club.

A minute later, police officers are seen trying to subdue Bain and seize the weapons he was carrying.

The footage is being shown as part of the prosecution's case that Bain carefully planned his actions.

The trial continues Tuesday.
