Being a parent in the 21st century has challenges that have never been faced before.

Chief among them is how to introduce children to technology, while knowing that any mistakes made can haunt a person forever.

Elias Makos has spent the past week given classes to parents about how to monitor their children's online activity.

"The biggest message is that everything you share on Facebook or online, or any service, there is a consequence to that," said Makos.

"Some of those consequences aren't that bad. For instance, give Facebook information about what you like, you'll get advertising based on those likes.

"Other things that you can share, such as photos or you know, even some comments that you make, they could have like long term effects on someone getting jobs."
