Many things are available for free on the internet, and a generation has grown up thinking that's normal.

But as Elias Makos points out, using Google and Facebook for free comes with a price.

"Because you are getting it for free, you are giving something up, and that is personal privacy. I think a lot of people would not want to go back if they had the choice to an internet that wasn't like today's internet," said Makos.
