MONTREAL - A week after it began the 'Occupy' movement in downtown Montreal is growing.

Demonstrators have spread their tent city from Victoria Square to the surrounding areas, and hundreds of tents are festooned with signs denouncing corporate greed.

Denis McCready is a documentary film producer who also runs a weekly online newspaper.

He spent Friday night at the movement.

"I got involved weeks ago when we had the first general assembly, and what I saw was a bunch of people, most of them strangers, who wanted to get organized in a direct democracy movement," said McCready.

In some other Canadian cities the movement seems to be petering out, but not in Montreal, nor in New York, where the movement began.

"I think a couple days ago only they reached saturation point. There's no room for any tents. There is a large area owned by the united nations, and it's off-limits, and the group, the movement, is respecting that," said McCready.
