Newborn found dead in Drummondville apartment

DRUMMONDVILLE - An autopsy will be performed on the body of newborn found dead Tuesday morning in a home on St-Pierre St. in Drummondville, 130 kilometres northeast of Montreal.
The Sûreté du Québec is investigating to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
The boy, whose exact age was not revealed by the SQ, was unconscious when police arrived at the family’s apartment, around 9 a.m. They tried to resuscitate the infant, but were unsuccessful. The child was later taken to the St. Croix Hospital in Drummondville, where his death was confirmed.
Parents, both in their 20s, were briefly hospitalized for shock. They were then interrogated by police.
For now, the SQ is calling the death suspicious.
