Quebec has a new education minister. He is Francois Blais, the former employment minister.

Premier Philippe Couillard chose Blais to replace Yves Bolduc who resigned Thursday to return to his medical practice.

Blais’ duties at employment will be taken over by Labour Minister Sam Hamad.

Blais was head of the social science faculty at Laval University and has a doctorate in philosophy.

The mini shuffle also involved Minister of Natural Resources Pierre Arcand who takes over Bolduc’s responsibility for the Cote-Nord region.
