Cleanup of the fuel spill in the St. Lawrence River at Trois Rivieres is progressing.

The Canadian Coast Guard says divers have successfully plugged the areas in the tug boat leaking diesel fuel.

So far almost ten tonnes of fuel has been recuperated.

But they say the operation is far from over, and will take several more days.

The tugboat sank Friday leaking 22 tonnes of fuel.

The vessel is owned by CAI Marine incorporated which is registered in New Brunswick.
