Birthplace: Sydney, Nova Scotia

Barry came to Montreal from Sydney, Nova Scotia, as a child with his family. He studied at Riverdale High School. Naturally curious by nature, Barry has followed the news for as long as he can remember.
Previous to producing our award-winning newscast, Barry was a political reporter with what was then known as Pulse News. He spent a number of years working in the Quebec City bureau and covered watershed events such as the Meech Lake debate, the Charlottetown referendum, and the October 1995 referendum on Quebec separation.
He says, in an age of cynicism, it is the journalist's duty to inform and make people care about Canada's democratic process. Society is dependant upon an informed electorate, and as executive producer of CTV News Montreal, he and his team try to provide that information on a daily basis.
When he's not in the newsroom, Barry likes to spend his time cooking, or exercising his dog.
