The city wants to know how Montrealers want Lafontaine Park to look in 20 years.

Public consultations begin Tuesday night to come up with a “shared vision” of how the park should be transformed.

Right now, the park has ponds and a fountain, an open-air stage, a cultural centre, cycle paths, playing fields and tennis courts.

To come up with new plans, the city is holding a series of public consultations and workshops.

Tuesday’s event is a public information session. Throughout May and June, the city will hold a series of vision workshops for citizens and community organizations and at the end of August there will be a public assembly to present the main ideas.

A final report will be submitted to the city by the end of September.

The city has set up a website with a schedule of events and a place to contribute an idea.
