Montreal police have arrested a suspect in Monday morning's shooting in the Plateau.

They showed up at a residence in Laval Thursday morning to arrest the 22-year-old suspect, but he fled on foot.

Police officers from Montreal, Laval, and the Sureté du Quebec gave chase and handcuffed him in a motel on Laurentides Blvd.

Police say that during the chase the man dropped a handgun, which was retrieved by officers.

The man is accused of shooting a person around 3:25 a.m. on Roy St. on Monday morning near Muzique Bar. That man survived his injuries.

Forensic specalists will analyze the weapon that was dropped on Thursday and determine if it is the same one used to shoot the victim earlier this week.

The suspect is due in court Friday morning on charges that have yet to be determined.
