The Surete du Quebec is investigating after a Montreal police car hit a cyclist.

The collision happened at corner of Berri St. and Roy Rd. at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

The 75-year-old cyclist is in hospital with head injuries. Doctors say he is in stable condition.

The officer who was driving was taken to hospital and treated for shock.

Five hours later police still had a command centre at the intersection as they took measurements to determine what led to the crash.
