Montreal police have arrested a 48-year-old man who allegedly committed seven robberies in seven days.

Police arrested Mario Marcotte Friday near the corner of St. Catherine and St. Urbain.

Marcotte allegedly robbed a series of Scotiabank outlets in and around Montreal after escaping from a halfway house about a week ago.

He faces charges of armed robbery, weapons possession and intent to harm and will appear before a judge via teleconference Saturday afternoon.
