A Montreal photographer has become the latest creator to go to the Kickstarter well, as her new book of winter photos of the Gaspe was made possible thanks to $14,388 ponied up by 157 backers.
Linda Rutenberg had been shooting for $11,000 to create her book The Gaspé Peninsula: Land on the Edge of Time and her three minute video pitch proved persuasive enough to get her 120-page coffee table book of photos to the printers.
Those who pledged between $65 and $100 were promised a signed copy of the book, a deal that attracted 72 backers, the largest of the 10 deals on offer. Three donors pledged $500 or more, with all of the rest paying up less.
