The City of Montreal says it has reached an agreement in principle with its blue-collar workers.

The terms of the agreement are being kept confidential for now and will be shared when the agreement has been formally approved, according to a news release sent out by the city.

Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre tweeted about the agreement Friday evening.

The agreement affects some 7,500 unionized employees.

The city has recently made pension plan deals with its police officers, firefighters, white-collar workers and scientists.
