Residents said the storm swept in quickly at 2:00 p.m. and lasted for about 15 minutes.

The cleanup carried over into Thursday for some residents. Jacques Grenon has lived in the area for 47 years and said he's never seen anything like it. The storm left so much debris that for Grenon and other residents, the cleanup which began on Wednesday has carried over to the next day.

"We don't stop," he said. "I started this morning at 6:30."

Farmer Karine Dumais said the storm caused extensive damage to her crops.

"Everything," she said. "Strawberries, tomatoes, onions, radishes, cabbage, cucumbers..."

One person reportedly saved some of the hail in their freezer, fearing nobody would believe just how severe the downpour was without evidence.
