A 48-year-old woman is in stable condition after she was attacked on the street in Mercier - Hochelaga Maisonneuve Sunday morning.
The incident happened near Ste. Catherine St. and Aird Ave. around 9:05 a.m.
She suffered upper body injuries in the attack.
A man in 50s was arrested.
Police say the victim and her alleged attacker know each other.
The suspect will likely face charges of armed assault, although police say that is still to be determined by the Crown prosecutor.
