A viral video of two people standing between two cars of a Montreal metro train is cause for concern.

Seen nearly 60,000 times on the Spotted: STM Facebook page, the video shows two people standing on couplers between two cars as the train pulls out of a metro station.

Montreal police say dangerous activity comes with two fines: one of $150 for riding on the outside of a train amd $75 for endangering another person.

Police say they are aware of the video and are looking into it.

Standing on couplers is impossible on the new Azur trains, because those trains are open end-to-end, so travellers can walk between cars from inside the train.
