Two people were hurt overnight after a shooting in Pointe Claire.

It all began with a fight in the parking lot outside McKibbin's Irish Pub in the strip mall northeast of the intersection of St. John's Blvd. and the Transcanada.

Around 1:45 a.m. multiple people began brawling when someone pulled out a weapon and fired at least one shot.

The fight ended with two people shot -- a 21-year-old man shot in the arm, and a 25-year-old man shot in the abdomen.

The armed man ran away from the scene while others called 9-1-1.

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene and treated the victims on the spot before rushing them to hospital. Both men are expected to survive their injuries.

Witnesses have said one of the injured men was the bar's bouncer.

Police have spoken to several witnesses, but haven't spoken to the injured men yet.

"They have to meet also with the victims when their health will be okay, in order to know exactly which people were involved and what were the reasons for the crime," said Manuel Couture.

Police have not yet determined whether the two victims were bystanders or involved in the fight.
