Laval police have arrested two men suspected of starting a fire at the building that housed the old Recreatheque early Saturday.

Firefighters arrived at the scene around 12:30 a.m. to find smoke coming from the roof of the now-abandoned building on Cure Labelle Blvd.

They also found two men in their 20s on the roof, stranded due to the fire. Police arrested them and the men have been brought in for questioning. They are considered suspects.

Firefighters discovered empty gas canisters inside the building, adding to the suspicion the fire was intentionally set.
