The Quebec City region is dealing with its first outbreaks of measles in four years.

One person who contracted the disease works at a medical clinic.

The Director of Public Health in the Capital region said all employees at the clinic have been ordered to undergo daily examinations to ensure they have not come down with the highly contagious disease.

The first person to be infected was contagious from March 27 until April 4, and the person's colleagues, associates, friends and family have been notified.

Authorities are now reaching out to others who may have come into contact with the infected people.

This outbreak is not believed to be related to the Disneyland infection of last year.

In that case one person with the disease visited the amusement park and infected dozens of others, who then passed it on to hundreds.

The U.S. outbreak has been stopped with 147 becoming ill, but 159 people in Quebec were sickened and that infection is still being monitored.

Most of the people who have contracted measles in Quebec belong to a religious community with a low vaccination rate.
