A newly upgraded fountain in Old Montreal is not working thanks to a burst pipe.

The fountain in Place Vauquelin beside city hall was renovated as part of Montreal's 375th celebrations.

The fresh face on Place Vauquelin came at a price tag of $14 million.

Inaugurated only two weeks ago, the fountain hasn’t been running since Friday.

As a result, the water has become stagnant and yellow.

City officials say they hope the fountain will be up and running again by the end of the week.
