It’s a good weekend to take Highway 20 rather than the 40 on the western section of the island, as Highway 40 around Ste Anne de Bellevue will be completely westbound closed for a dozen hours starting at 10 p.m. tonight and will see the same 12-hour closure begin again Saturday at 9 pm. The section to avoid is between St. Charles and Anciens Combattants. The eastbound section will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday between Ste. Anne's and Morgan.

Downtown drivers can expect the regular Saturday night downtown traffic jams, as the fireworks competition colours the skies in its penultimate event for this summer Saturday. As per usual, the Jacques Cartier Bridge closes between 8:30 p.m. and 11:00 pm and access to the Ville Marie Tunnel eastbound between Mountain and Papineau ends at 7:30 and only reopens at midnight.

The exit from the Bonaventure Expressway at Wellington will be closed from Friday at 8 p.m all the way until Monday morning at 5 a.m. The roadway near the intersection of Wellington near Duke St will also be closed entirely during that time.

Ontario St. between de Lorimier Ave. and Bordeaux St. will be completely closed for construction for at least another week.

Motoring between Laval and Montreal on Highway 15 is discouraged as well as the Mederic Martin Bridge that links the islands, as well as roads some distances before and after, will see only one of three lanes open from tonight until Monday at 5 a.m. northbound and southbound Sunday night between 11 p.m and 4 a.m. Monday.

The Lafontaine tunnel will also see lane closures, as only one lane will remain open from Sunday at 11 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. in the northbound direction.
