A gallery in Montreal’s Old Port is selling off works of art for a good cause all week.

LOVE, which stands for Leave Out Violence, is a bilingual organization that works with at-risk youth in high schools across Montreal.

“We help them to be able to express themselves doing presentations in schools so they’re in a better position to make a change (and) end the cycle of violence in their own community,” said LOVE executive director Pierre Couture.

The group is looking to expand its programs and to raise funds, 150 works of art are being sold at Galerie 203. The pieces were donated by more than a dozen local artists, as well as some of the teenagers who are part of LOVE’s programs. Some proceeds will go to those teenagers and the rest will go to LOVE itself.

The sale continues until April 22.
